Using Mobiles to Support Schooling during Disaster, Disruption, Dislocation
Karl and I have been looking at ways to use mobiles to maintain the continuity and cohesion of school when the school system is disrupted by disaster or conflict; we thought of messaging systems that would keep teachers in touch with parents, and maybe older kids, when schools were closed or communities disrupted, providing short encouragement, topics, reminders, tasks etc.
I am happy to give examples and ideas but would welcome any reactions or feedback. This might have a specific spin in relation to learning history and geography when much of the real subject matter, the landscape & the people (& the museums) are outside school anyway.
